Pick a Local Pick SA! – A Better Choice

Pick a Local, Pick SA! is a South Australian campaign run by Market Fresh SA which highlights the important role the independent retail sector play in the local horticulture industry. The independent retail sector consists of local business owned by local South Australian families who source the bulk of their produce from local growers through the SA Produce Market.

The campaign supports the South Australian horticultural industry from grower, wholesaler and retailer.  The consumer facing campaign encourages South Australians to make a conscious buying decision to shop for their in-season locally grown produce from and independent Pick a Local, Pick SA! fruit and veg store.

The Pick a Local, Pick SA! campaign reminds customers that when they see the red logo, they can feel assured that they are buying fresh produce that was handpicked from growers and wholesalers at the South Australian Produce Market.

They are also supporting local businesses, local families, local growers, local communities, local jobs, the local industry and the local economy.

The campaign consists of extensive category marketing, seasonal campaigns, media advocacy, social and digital media, outdoor advertising, radio advertising and in-store promotional activities.

Callum Hann, Masterchef, has proudly been the Pick a Local, Pick SA! brand ambassador since 2011 and regular appears at events and media engagements in support of the campaign.

As of 2018, Pick A Local, Pick SA! is working with national brand ‘A Better Choice’ to extend the reach of the campaign to truly support the network of Central market systems and independent fruit and veg retailers across Australia.
